My comments on tutoring Russian : 6 years of Russian study. Intermediate mid-high proficiencies (as determined by oral proficiency interview) before leaving for Russia for 1.5 years.

A in AP U.S. History in High School, B.A. in International Relations and Russian Post-Soviet Studies from The College of William and Mary (3.4 GPA). 6 years of Russian language study, including a 6-week study abroad program in St. Petersburg, Russia, and 1.5 years living and teaching ESOL in Novosibirsk, Russia. 10 years of competitive running experience, including being captain of High School and University cross country and track and field teams.
Relaxed. I do not discipline students. If students want to learn they will put in the effort - I will not be their babysitter. I try to make class interesting, involved, and active, and to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Privet! My name is Katerina, and I am an English teacher for non-native speakers. I graduated from University in Russia, had experience of tutoring the English language for russian speakers for 2 years. Though I assume I could successfully teach Russian for english-speakers or for russian-speakers kids or for anybody who is in demand of it. A Little Bit About Me...

I've tutored at inner-city schools and in one-on-one environments. I have also tutored numerous Russian-speaking adults, children, refugees, and asylees in English through a non-profit organization. This assistace helped them become self sufficient and learn English and American culture. I thoroughly enjoyed that tutoring, and have since become a teacher.
I always want students to feel relaxed in a tutoring session. I adapt my teaching style to each student and encourage them to practice, explore, analyze, and learn from any mistakes.
