My teaching philosophy and style is to make sure the student comprehends the basics of any subject before starting any further or advance work. I find that in the sciences, fundamental knowledge of the basics is very important for the further advancement of really understanding and learning higher concepts. As a student myself who has had tutors and experienced what is needed of most students to do well in exams, fundamentals always played key. My teaching style is very simple and I believe it is effective. I have found that going through problems does not always help kids learn. I always try to tutor the basics and establish a plan for problem solving. The children need to know how to attach a problem not how to plug numbers into equations.
While attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell I work to help other students that were having difficulty understanding the material presented. I obtained a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Analysis. The course work gave me a very strong understanding of Mathematics, and Physics.
