I am currently pursuing a degree in secondary education with a specialization in American History. I have a passion for the subject and for helping students succeed. A Little Bit About Me...

I like children to learn through exploring. This is not to say that I do not teach, but I plan lessons in a way that allows students to learn at their own pace. I feel like if I can put together a lesson that gives children a motivation to learn, they will learn on a deeper level than if I am merely telling them information. With my middle school math students whom I tutored, this meant that we learned about fractions through art. It was not enough to explain to them how fractions worked, I realized that they needed to experience fractions. We spent the same amount of time as the regular class did on fractions, but my students were able to better explain their work.

A Little Bit About Me...

I would like to let it be known that I would be in my senior year in college and do not yet possess a bachelor's degree. I have two younger brothers in middle school who I have been helping with math and science homework for the past few years.
Before I begin to teach I like to attempt to understand how much the student comprehends about the particular subject. I prefer to teach globally and with examples. I was fortunate to be able to enter college full-time at the age of fourteen. This gave a great opportunity to pursue a wide variety of interests and still graduate slightly ahead of my peers. As a result I had almost completed the requirements for majors in several subjects, including chemistry, German, music and the subject I received my degree in, biology.
