To teach is to "impart knowledge or skill to somebody by instruction or example" while education is defined as "to develop mentally, morally, or aesthetically especially by instruction". I aspire to be an educator, as defined above. While I believe in the content of the sciences, I am interested in evoking the thought process to utilize the scientific method as a problem solving technique applicable to all areas of life. Teaching comes naturally to me in that I love to work with people (i.e. my professional career) and I love to encourage and inspire others to advance their lives through education. I create a comfortable atmosphere for students so that their stress level is reduced and they are able to focus on learning. At the same time, I make lessons fun yet serious.
