I have worked with elementary, high school, and college-aged students, providing instruction in subjects ranging from English to biology. I am comfortable teaching a group, but I also have ample experience working one-on-one with students. I believe that course material should engage students. I do not believe that rote memorization is practical in most real-world situations, and I prefer to provide instruction in a manner that makes learning interesting and fun. This typically results in students who retain information long after a test is over.

As a Purdue graduate, I was the recipient of the highest level of instruction in math and science. As an undergraduate I was named on the Dean’s list six times and was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. In order to be granted this degree I was required to gain a great understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have been on the cutting edge of computer science from the first hand held calculators. I can program in FORTRAN, Assembly, Basic, Pascal, and C languages, on a variety of platforms. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a French native speaker. I gave private tutoring lessons at the University Language Center to adults and their families as well as students preparing for the Graduate Proficiency Test (GPT) at the University of Minnesota. I was committing 2 to 3 hours a week of ESL, math and science tutoring junior high students from immigrant family background at Abraham Lincoln High School. My dedication made me noticed and recognized by the principal of the school which allowed me to work as an ESL teacher in the summer of 2004. In all my tutoring experience I have been extremely successful, in getting my students to pass the GPT, in achieving goals for the adults and their families, as well as for the kids from minority communities.
