Graphic Design is one of my top subjects!

My preference is to have my clients "learn by doing". I can demonstrate how to utilize software or design anything from logo's to website landing pages, but find that students learn best when putting these skills to practical application.
Experienced in tutoring Adobe Creative Suite software (especially Photoshop and Illustrator) from beginner to advanced. Adept in photo editing/enhancing and capable of teaching all elements of design. I have also tutored basic computer skills to older clients, such as web browsing, social media navigation, and e-mail applications.

Graphic Design is one of my top subjects! My undergraduate degree is in Visual Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design and Photography.

I have taught 5th Grade Math and Science, 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade as an Interventionist, Kindergarten, and most recently Advanced Math and Language Arts / ESOL/CIVICS in and Adult GED/HiSet program. I have the ability to motivate and light the fire of interest in my students by incorporating in my teaching full emersion projects. Using an approach that fully immerses my students in the subject they are learning gives them the opportunity to learn firsthand instead of being merely a receiver of information. I call this approach “Walk a mile”. I have used this approach in many of my student teaching as well as substituting experiences. A Little Bit About Me...

The method of teaching I prefer is maieutic, i.e., one which draws knowledge from the student, rather than attempts to place it in him/her from without. To me, the process of asking questions and allowing the student's curiosity and intelligence to reach conclusions is far more effective than one-sided lecturing. I am endlessly creative, coming up with myriad examples to illustrate concepts.
In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). In 2008 I taught in the design department for Georgia State University. This summer I traveled to a remote region in India to teach English.
