A Little Bit About Me...

Many people have different teaching skills and techniques. I do not believe any technique to educate a child is better than any other technique. Each child learns differently. Understanding the fact that children learn differently is crucial. The teacher must be able to adapt to the child's learning style. I believe I have the ability to use an array of teaching styles to help children. I would enjoy the opportunity to help children learn.
As a student at the University of Detroit Mercy, I worked as a tutor for two years. I helped other students struggling in mathematics and biology classes. Also, my senior year in college I worked as a Teaching Assistant for a Microbiolgy lab. In addition, I did student teaching for a Catholic Middle School.

I have earned a bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering and minor in mathematics in 2004. I am currently working on my master degree in Electrical Engineering at Oakland University. While I was doing my bachelor degree, I had a job in the computer lab as tutor and mentor for students in C programming assignments and Unix lab related problems. I worked at Chrysler LLC from 2004 to 2010 in the information technology department as a Datacenter Facilities Engineer, I was in charge of training and orientation of new emplyees on networking, plant technology maintenance and union compliance.

I was an A-grade student in my undergrad, which were only the top ten percent of the batch, working on my bachelors and masters at the same time. I have been on dean's honor list several times, and was a scholarship recipient for my entire masters degree. I am currently a computer engineer, working towards my doctorate in computer engineering. I have been writing technical papers which have helped develop strong writing skills over the past few years. I have tutored student on and off in the past eight years. My teaching experience came from tutoring at Alkebulan Village for the last two years. I tutored high school students at different levels of math such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra (I & II), Geometry, Precalculus. I also prepared the student for the ACT exam. While I was in college, I also tutored many students in calculus (I, II & III), Differential Equations, Linear Equations, C++, and Microsoft office words, and excel.
I love teaching and it is my favorite thing to do. I been told by every student I help or tutored that I am one of the best teacher they ever had. My style is to challenge and bring the best of every student. I make my lesson an open discussion between me and the students and I found that to be the best and fastest way from them to learn. I also make them relate math to the real world and I was always able to come with very creative examples.
