A Little Bit About Me...

As a Buffalo State graduate, I have received Dean's List award. I have earned two Master Degrees, Master of Social Science in Public Administration and Master of Science in Reading that helped me to teach to the students who face difficulties in the content area reading. I am exposed to and trained with numerous research-based reading programs such as Reading Recovery, Fountas and Pinnell GRL, and more. As an AIS teacher, I pull out students to teach math and reading skills. Currently, I teach ESL to the adult students as well.
I am blessed that I am not academically extremely intelligent. Otherwise, I could never be sympathetic to the students who struggle processing various concepts. I am a strong believer in Multiple Intelligences. I know that first I must learn who my students are and how they learn if I am to teach them successfully. I employ the Socratic method often possible, and keep lessons as student-centered as possible. I frequently make use of the students' interests and technology to engage them.
