I have spent my whole adullt life tutoring, mentoring and being a role model to others by being involved as a coach for the local Pop Warner football team, as well as serving as a tutor to three middle school/high school students, in the subject of math, science and social studies. I have also served as a substitute teacher. My favorite subject areas are in American History, Government, and Science.
I do not believe in standardized testing. Each child has the capability of learning, but not all children have the ability to take tests, for whatever reason. I tend to "test" by playing games, such as Jeopardy, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, etc...and have the questions be cumulative in nature, not just on the part that we are learning. Having received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University and the University of California in the area of physical science (Atmospheric Science), I have attained a high level of knowledge in multiple areas ranging from Math and Science (particularly Physics) as well as Chemistry and Biology. A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience working with adults but I love working with children as well. I have the ability to manipulate the way I teach that will maximize the learning for each individual. I'm am a very personal and creative person thats wants everyone to succeed in their academics.
While studying for my undergrad in economics I found a passion in helping others succeed as I was. I often held study sessions with groups ranging from 2- 10 people at least twice a week. When during these sessions if an individual felt lost, I would often meet with them at a later date to coach them separately. I have yet to receive a further degree in teaching but may be a path a may take. It is such a wonderful feeling to succeed at academics and I love to help others experience that.
