A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher of urban students and students who have experienced sever trauma (Hillside), I have gained a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by children today such as home environment and poverty. My teaching style is very structured and includes various modes of instruction. I try to utilize cooperative learning strategies when ever possible. Students can learn alot from each other both intellectually as well as socially. To help students to learn the vast amount of vocabulary included in most science curriculums I teach my students to determine word meanings by braking words down into their latin roots or “decoding”. I also like to teach students important study skills as well as test taking strategies.
