In college, I was a Math Tutor in all the requisite courses and calculus. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Math and BS in Mechanical Engineering, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. When teaching in a classrom environment I prefer to divide the class time between lecture and practice. When tutoring I use a sumwhat different approach. I first will have the student show me how they think they are supposed to approach the problem. I will then work through the problem & let them see where their approach is right & where they need to change. Using this method in a positve manner has proven very successful in the past. While working as a Designer at Boeing Aerospace I taught freshman level technical courses at Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. I taught there from 1993 thru 1999. My classes included drafting, design, basic 2D AutoCAD, shop math, shop safety & general manufacturing practices.
