My comments on tutoring Geography : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced and Intermediate math and language arts in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

I have worked as a nanny during undergraduate for a couple different families. I have also worked through the YMCA as an after school teacher where I helped students K-6 with their homework. As part of my education program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I was required to complete a full, yearlong internship. I interned from August-October in a 2nd grade classroom and from October-May in a 3rd grade classroom, Monday-Friday. I went from "student teacher" to co-teacher and my mentor and I would divide the day equally on who taught what. I love to help children understand a subject better. It is a great feeling to see a student get the idea after being helped. I believe that every student is capable of learning; it all depends on their learning style. In my masters program and while I have been teaching, I have learned many ways to get students engaged in the material they are learning. Some students learn better with one on one and some do better with group work. You just have to try different approaches until you see which one works best.
