ADD/ADHD is one of my top subjects! I worked as a social worker and coached children in the school and home setting.

I studied Elementary Education during my undergraduate. During this time, I was a student teacher on several different occasions. I assisted the home room teacher and independently planned and taught lessons to the students. I have worked with grades 1 to 5 as a student teacher. I enjoyed teaching and was a very passionate teacher, but I realized that work as a social worker would allow me to help my students on a more personal level. During my work as a social worker, I worked with clients in the school and home setting. I educated teachers and school staff regarding my client's mental illnesses, and I developed classroom strategies to help my clients thrive in the classroom. I have had a very large variety of teaching experiences. During my teaching practicums at Indiana State University, I was able to teach a number of subjects. I taught in the areas of science, math, social studies, and English. I was able to teach math and social studies to a gifted and talented 2nd grade classroom. I was able to assist in all areas in a mild to moderately disabled classroom. I was able to teach English at the high school level to mild to moderately disabled students. I was able to teach science to 1st and 6th grade students. I was able to work as a reading specialist to students grades K-1st.
