I graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Elementary Education (K-6) as well as Reading Certification (K-12). I did an internship in 1st grade as well as taught some in 2nd and 3rd grade. I know that each child is different and that I must differentiate my teaching methods in order to reach all children. I love learning new and creative ways to teach content to children and trying to make learning as engaging and meaningful as possible for all.

Reading and Spelling Tutor: Specializing in Dyslexia/LD/ADHD

I have a degree in Elementary Education and have been certified to use the Barton Reading and Spelling System. I have 3 years of experience in teaching grades K and 1 and 1 year of experience in teaching small group instruction in grades K, 4, and 5. I teach using the Barton Reading and Spelling System (an Orton-Gillingham based program). This program teaches students to read and spell phonetically (sounding out words).
