My comments on tutoring Painting : I worked for 3 years painting custom design and replications of needlepoint templates for a boutique on Newbury Street in Boston. I also have been building my portfolio of nature prints and paintings to show and sell. I am comfortable teaching all mediums including mixed media.

I go as fast or as slow as the student needs. I encourage students to try new techniques and ideas so they are self-aware of the process and learning experience that leads to self-improvement and development.
During the school year, I work as a curriculum coordinator and art teacher for an after school program in Lexington, Ma. This is my 6th year of teaching stimulating and unique art projects to children in grades K-5. I have interned as a graphic designer and also had jobs as a wedding photographer. During the summer, I work as an assistant director to a summer enrichment program in Winchester, Ma. Outside of work- I am a member at large of the Boston Guild of Puppeteers, and also work on my own art which includes building my portfolio of paintings to show and sell, as well as complete small digital photography jobs.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an early childhood teacher, I have had several opportunities to help children (school age), to do homework. I also was a tutor in high school to a boy for just Algebra, which then turned around to being all of his subjects and helping him keep on track. The hardest thing for me was that he had only lived in the U.S. for four years, and had trouble speaking English. After each session of tutoring, I would grab the Scrabble board, which encouraged him to use more words, learn new words, and have fun while doing so.
I like to get to the point of certain problems, such as reading the child/student when I see them, ask them some questions about the subjects they need help in and why they need help. I have worked with Infants-School age for over 5 years, and enjoy being there to help someone in need. I believe in giving back, because so many of us are blessed already.

A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my degree in newspaper journalism at Syracuse University, one of the finest schools in the country for this program. Since that time, I have worked as a writer, editor, journalist and reporter for several major organizations, most recently as a content producer for Monster.com's Career Advice. This position involved working with freelance writers to mold their work into a better product.
I believe that helping young people with their writing is essential to getting them to properly express themselves, as well as get them ready to compete in the world of work and school. I love working one-on-one with students and showing them how to improve their writing. I am a tough editor but believe that constant practice is the key to becoming an effective communicator.

I started out working as a Head Start teacher's assistant and the following year I was promoted to Head Start teacher and manager. I have also worked as a 1:1 instructional assistant with a high needs student. Currently I worked in a behavior school as an instructional assistant, and I have stepped in to plan curriculum and teach all the classes because the teacher has been on paid leave this year. I have been able to keep my GPA at a 3.8 which I believe demonstrates my ability to multitask effectively.
