A Little Bit About Me...

I have a total of 15 years experience speaking, reading and writing Spanish. I am very familiar with the different Spanish language variants. I lived in Chile for almost two consecutive years, and studied in Costa Rica for a short time. My B.A. is in Anthropology and Spanish, and my M.S. is in International Studies. I currently teach at a local community college. I have worked with children since I was in Jr. High School, teaching Sunday School at my church. I have always been very patient with children and have allotted them time to comprehend a topic before going on to the next. I believe it is important to go about teaching children according to their individual learning abilities and interests. My experience working in the Early Childhood Education Department at the University of Oklahoma as a graduate assistant has also influenced my beliefs about teaching. I feel that I can reach many types of learners. I can adapt to different learning styles and have experience with a variety of learners. I have children of my own that are aged eight to 16, so I feel that I can relate well to many different age levels.
