Being a college graduate has allowed me to pursue my dream of helping and working with children. I have earned a BS in Human Services with a concentration in Psychology, and am currently enrolled in a Master's program for Community Mental Health Counseling. I will graduate at the end of this month with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in English, having completed more than 90 credit hours in literature studies and 18 credit hours of creative writing. Since obtaining my Master’s degree I have had the opportunity to work in coaching and reading specialist positions. This entailed working with both experienced and beginning teachers and students. Through cognitive coaching I formed relationships with these teachers, which allowed me to share my knowledge of best teaching practices in the reading content.
