Biology is one of my top subjects! I received my Masters in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Taught two sections of an Introductory Biology Laboratory and was a Teaching Assistant in Cellular Biology.

I tailor my teaching to the needs of my students. I like using their textbooks and assigning problems to do from the book since that will be material most likely tested. I also go over their homework assignments given by the instructor and can make up problems if the student requires the extra practice.
I have taught two sections of an introductory biology laboratory (Bio181) at the University of Arizona in 2011. Each section is three hours long and I prepare the lectures and weekly quizzes. I also grade lab reports, computer assignments, lab projects and hold office hours for two hours each week. I prefer to mix didactic and socratic teaching styles. Students must experience many subjects in a variety of ways. It is generally not sufficient to teach an advanced subject without asking the student to apply the information. In science and math exercises and questions are crucial, as these fields largely focus on giving the student tools that they can later apply to diverse situations where the answers to pertinent questions are not generally known and must be deduced.
