A Little Bit About Me...

I have graduated the University of Oregon in 2003 with a BA in Spanish Literature and a minor in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. I have a lot of experience teaching children and young adults English as well as Spanish. I have also worked in a public elementary school as an educational assistant and am familiar with different learning styles and pedagogies. As part of my undergraduate degree I taught English to adults. I taught English in Korea for one year before enrolling in my Masters of Education program. During the program I had two student teacher placements. My first placement was in a middle school mathematics class and my second placement was in a self-contained 5th grade classroom.
I teach in a collaboratively with students. I believe that treating students more as equals and less and repositories for teacher originated information, is more conducive to learning. I present students with the information and let them build their own understanding.
