As a philosopher, I have what amounts to an unusual ability to convey to a student a sense of the value and importance of the subject he or she is studying. This is key in motivating any student. As a teacher, I am a careful student of the psychology and abilities of my student. To teach effectively, one must determine precisely where a student is developmentally both in terms of personal psychological maturation and intellectual skill levels, then go from there.
