Hello...I am a certified English teacher for grades 6-12 and have been a 7th grade teacher the last 11 years at Matoaca Middle School. Before that, I was the sole English teacher for grades 9-12 at Kenston Forest, a private school. In total, I have 16 years experience in a classroom. Every year, I offer small group tutoring and have worked for a company and an elementary school (separately) tutoring students. I am comfortable teaching all subject matter for students in grades 6 or lower.

Interactive as well as practical 1st I teach the grammatical aspect 2nd put to practice the lesson by a) doing practical exercises and b) interactive (students will repeat pronounciations with me and then practice with each other in groups or with partners)I will go to each group and listen to them and make corrections if need be 3rd I will instruct a student individually during the practical exercises or group sessions when I feel a student is not capturing an aspect of a lesson (understanding, pronounciation or grammatical)
Teaching to me is a vocation and not just a job. I enjoy helping children achieve their peek potential in the subject matter at hand. If this is not possile, I take an approach to the topic in order to make it more interesting, especially when there are such good internet resources today.
