As a beginning substitute teaching day-to-day I encountered a diverse cross section of students. I taught from special education to advanced students. The encounters went from cultural, age, to behavioral. the subject matter went from home economics, art, math, english, history, to science. Most students lack structure and focus, therefore, knowledge and a lesson plan helps as well as the ability to manage a classroom. A good lesson plan should show revelance to a student's every day life in what they are being taught.
My teaching style assesses in the student's learning ability to set the pace. Before beginning the next a review of the previous lesson is in order to be sure the prior lesson has been grasped.
