A Little Bit About Me...

I was a substitute teacher for Wappingers Central School district from April 2013 to June 2014. I taught grades 6 - 12 for a variety of subjects including, but not limited to Social Studies, Spanish, English, Music, and Special Education. One particular position I held was that I was a substitute Spanish teacher at Van Wyck Jr. High School teaching grades 7 - 8 from February to March 2014. I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. A Little Bit About Me...

As someone who felt in my youth that if I could only pay attention I could learn anything has taught me how to break down the barriers to focus and how it can shape a students success in any discipline. Focusing on my learning style has taught me how to demonstrate complex ideas in ways that are easy to absorb. I tend to find different ways to relate material to students in ways that are fun. I used a dollars and cents approach to teach young students the importance of decimals, fractions, and basic arithmetic as how it affected their own bottom line: their allowance, milk money and so on.
