My love for teaching and working with children has allowed me to learn a variety of ways to help my students learn. Through the use of audio, visual and tactile manipulatives, my students have had some very exciting experiences and have succeeded in meeting the objectives set for them. I have been supervising other counselors since 1997 in their report-writing. I take pride in my writing skills in the face of a field riddled with nurses who prefer abbreviations to beautifully executed coherent sentences. The sheer eloquence of being able to deliver a report allowing the reader to infer the true meaning of your words, while not providing any statements that will give fuel to a legal representative is a time-earned skill. Most of my career has been spent at IBM, where I built on my Physics background for a broad range of opportunities. I am now seeking to move into a teaching career and plan to start a Masters in Teaching in the Fall of 2009. I obtained a B.S. in engineering from Webb Institute in 1968, entered the U.S. Coast Guard and thereafter obtained a JD in Law from SUNY, Buffalo. I tutored underclassmen in calculus while at Webb and taught seventh and eighth grade math and science in a small catholic school, part time, while in law school. Following law school I was a prosecutor for six years after which I became a hearing officer for NYS OCFS. I retired from state service about one year ago, at age sixty-two.
