A Little Bit About Me...

Since children do have different learning styles, I have found that some of your beginning stages with them is figuring out how to effectively work with a student. After that discovery incorporating these learning styles in the lessons will aid in having successful learning experiences. This is my first goal as I begin to plan individual or small group lessons. Adjusting your plans and evaluating the lessons is also part as go forward with the varied students' learning styles. I seek to focus on how to aid their education, whatever styles are required.
My experience has included eight years in public and private schools in the USA and four years in an international school in Germany. I am a senior in the Education program at Appalachian State University. As an Elementary Education major, I have worked closely with children from many age levels. I have participated in an after-school tutor/mentor program at Appalachian State in 2008. In 2009, I completed two internships while in the Education Program. One working with 2nd grade students and the other with 5th grade students. I have also taken many courses to understand context and teaching strategies in all subject areas.
