Then, I establish a baseline of what they have learned so that I can direct my attention to their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, I get into the material with the student and show them how and why the material is important and applicable in the world in which we live.
I have served as a substitute teacher in Hayward, CA for 1 1/2 years. I worked as a tutor for Learning & Loving It in San Jose, CA for 3 years. As a graduate of Mississippi State University, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I had the opportunity to intern in the West Point Public School District where I taught fourth grade and kindergarten. I learned valuable information while teaching that will help me throughout my teaching career such as how to plan and lead effective lessons, how to differentiate instruction, and collaboration to create an creative learning environment.
