I began tutoring in the sixth grade. We did not have honor courses where I attended, so older students tutored younger students. In college I tutored many subjects to earn money for my tuition. After graduating, I worked in two different school systems as a remedial teacher. I even designed a new remedial reading and spelling program for the one school. If a students doesn't understand a concept when I explain it, I use other ways (other explanations and manipulatives) to help the student understand.
