I've tutored students throughout my entire student career. I am still taking classes toward my bachelor's degree in journalism. I was always excellent with math throughout high school even though my major does not require it now. /my strong points obviously lean toward writing but I love to help with math studies as well. I taught a creative writing class to young adult recovering addicts, composition to freshmen in college, grantwriting to adults at Upper Iowa University, and tutored students at both UW and University of Illinois.
I believe you learn how to write by writing,and that you improve your writing by revising. I can both deal with specific assignments from school and give exercises to develop writing skills. If a student has problems with expressing their opinions or creating material, I try to draw them out by asking questions. Often students are more able to express themselves verbally and we simply transfer that to writing.
