I enjoy watching children learn and grow. I believe there are different teaching techniques for each individual student. I have come to learn this because of my younger sibling who didn't fit into the mold of a typical public school student. I am a firm believer in trying new things and new approaches. As a Bowling Green State University student who has studied Communication Disorders I have come across many experiences with children. Communication Disorders not only includes speech, but language as well. I have gained knowledge about how children read and write and why some children may have problems with this. I attempt to meet each student at his or her own level, and seek to engage students through humor as well as through direct instruction. My teaching style varies from student to student and subject to subject, but I believe that every student can learn. I worked as in house counsel for seven and a half years in Fidelity National Financial’s Chicago claims department, handling title insurance claims generated by property in multiple states of the country. For the last four of those years, I was in a supervisory position with respect to the other members of my “team.” My primary job responsibilities have included coverage determination of title insurance claims and management of outside counsel. I have always believed everyone can learn and everyone has different learning styles. Finding what works for the student is often the key to life-long success. I have a great connection with students and am always a believer they can be successful. Patience, motivation and desire are essential to success. I have experience in every level of student. My first degree (A.S.) was in Engineering and I worked at higher level math, including a college Teacher's Assistant in Calculus. I went on to obtain a B.S. in Education.
