I'm a very visual and verbal person. I like to explain things by writing/drawing them out, saying them out loud and creating analogies between things to help students better understand a concept. I believe the comparison between a concept and something the student can relate to allows for the student to comprehend what is being taught. I'm currently a high school tutor for the Socorro Independent School District. I currently tutor English 1-4 and social studies, economics and government. I'm very proficient in my job and do my best to make sure my students understand the concepts. I'm not going to lie; I hated school when I was younger. Some people might think this a drawback when hiring someone as a tutor, but I think it has made me more sympathetic to students who struggle, who don't enjoy school and who need someone to give them a reason to excel.
