French is one of my top subjects! I have studied French for 10 years now and lived in France a year ago. I lived about 2 hours southwest of Paris and went to a wonderful international university for students studying French. There were students from 25 different countries in my program and I lived with a host family, so I was always speaking French. I am not teacher certified yet, but I have taken all of the required French classes. I have one teaching class left and a semester of student teaching and then I will be a certified French teacher for grades K-12. Last year I tutored a high school freshman and a high school senior in French. This year, I also occasionally tutor and review French with an elderly lady.

I will be certified to teach K-12. I believe that the earlier one starts learning a language, the easier it will be for them and the quicker they will learn. While I have recently tutored older students, I have observed and helped teach foreign language classes of all ages.
I am originally from Bloomington, Illinois and am studying French and Spanish Education at Illinois State University. I am in my fifth year right now since I have two teaching majors. I will graduate in May 2014. Since my Junior year of high school, I knew that I wanted to teach French. My knowledge in the area of psychology of education helps me greatly understand that everybody has a different learning style. If everybody has a different learning style, teaching cannot perform in an uniform manner. It must be varied in order to meet every student's need. Being an educator I know some students are visual others are auditive. With the visual students teaching must include images and with the auditive students sounds must be used. Following my graduation as the valedictorian of the class of 2002 with a Bachelor degree in French-Language and Literature, I was selected to join the branch of Science of Pedagogical Studies for French as a Second Language and Professional Training at L’Ecole Normale Supérieure in Morocco. Only two groups of fifteen graduates were admitted among hundreds of candidates over the country. I don't believe in giving a student the answers to their questions. Rather, I think it is important to help them find the answers themselves--understanding the process will enable them to perform on their own. For example, rather than editing a student's paper, I will go through it line by line and have them help me find the errors.
I have a very strong background in writing. My experience includes my graduate research and thesis, news writing for a tv station, in addition to 6 years of writing for academia.
