My comments on tutoring Elementary Social Studies : I have taught elementary social studies for thirty years in various grades from Kindergarten to sixth grade. Also, I attended extra social studies workshops that were presented through the school district and the International Social Studies Teacher Association.

I use a combination of both online games and Websites and hands-on manipulatives. First, I like for the student to take multiple intelligence tests and then I know how best to help the student. The information I gain from the analysis is extremely informative. It tells me where the students' strengths lie such as some students are musically inclined, some are visual learners, auditory learners, some are mathematicians and various other styles. Then, the style that they learn through the best is how I would teach the student; this is based on Gardner's Multiple Intelligence. Second, meeting the standards are essential in today's education system. The four C's of the 21st century is also necessary for students' to learn. They are collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity.

Elementary Social Studies is one of my top subjects! During my Student Teaching, Elementary Social Studies was the lesson that I taught. I worked one-on-one with all the students often, and Social Studies was a top subject. Social Studies is my favorite subject and I love tutoring this subject.

I have been working with children for the past seven years. Four of those years have included homeschooling pre-school and pre-kindergarten as well as homework help and tutoring the children that I was babysitting. I love tutoring because it allows me to work one-on-one with my students. Tutoring, also, allows me the opportunity to create the ultimate tutoring experience based off of the students learning style and interest. I entered college in my late twenties and have been involved in some aspect of learning ever since.
