Throughout my coursework at Eau Claire, I have adopted a constructivist approach to teaching. That is, I believe that every child is unique and learns differently. It is the instructors job to find out how each child learns the material, whether it be visually with demonstrations or integrating the material to an area of interest (like a favorite sport), and then cater to their particular need. As a result, I am easy to approach, likeable, and try to be a supportive as opposed to disciplinary mentor. I am also a huge fan of answering the 'Why do I need to know this?' question, and do my best to connect the problem or subject to something applicable to the child.
