I am an educator with 27 years of experience. I have both taught and tutored grades K-12. I have a special needs, vocational, and assessment background. I love teaching and working with students. I am very patient, easy-going, and encouraging. My teaching approach is creative and imaginative. I use methods to make lessons fun and enjoyable. I believe in using "the whole language approach," which helps to reinforce several skills at the same time. I am able to communicate my thoughts and ideas very clearly. When I become a professor, I am going to make sure that in each and every student I encounter that I instill the belief that no matter what background they have, all of their professional goals are possible. I come from a family with very little formal education, and I have been able through hard work and dilligence progress through all degree programs very well. I had a handful of professors in college that took a stance of sticking to your goals and not letting a few obstacles hinder your progress. Having inspired me to continue even during difficult times, I feel that taking the same approach to younger students can prepare them even better for future educational endeavors.
