All students learn at different levels. I like to incorporate all the learning styles of students. Some learn by hands-on, others by listening, and some by writing. These are all used by me. Each student has their own learning style and a teacher has to help each find what works for each student and then incorporate this to meet the needs for that particular student. Education cannot be mass-produced. One style does not fit all. Reading is extremely important to the success of a student. Education is the most valuable tool and weapon to get out of poverty; and it is something no one can ever take away from you. I have 17 years in the classroom and 5 years of education to attain this. I have taught two years of middle school and home schooled my daughter. I have worked as a substitute teacher on and off for several years. My emphasis in college was English and Math so I feel very comfortable teaching either of these subjects as well as reading. My teaching style is flexible. Students learn in different ways and at different paces. It is my job to discover how the students learn and what they respond best to. For some subjects, repetition is very important and for others a clearer understanding of the concepts involved is more valuable. I like to start with small skills and build on them.

I enjoy teaching children of all ages. Learning can be fun as long as you can relate it to something that the child is interested in. Gaining the knowledge that is taught in middle school and high school only helps the child to further education. I believe learning should be fun and enjoyable. I am very patient and take pride in producing positive results. I obtained my Associates of Science Degree in Biology at Macon State College completing courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Calculus. I then completed my Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology at Valdosta State University. At Valdosta State University, I completed courses such Microbiology, Molecular Genetics of DNA, Animal Physiology, Protein Biochemistry, and Statistics.
