I believe that not all people learn the same. I certainly learn differently depending on the subject. I also know that reading and writing papers can be a scary task. I specialize in close reading, which means getting students to understand what they are reading and come up with a topic for a paper. I enjoy working with all learners - no matter the age, child or adult. I enjoy the challenge it brings of figuring out what teaching method works for each individual. In my experience, it takes ingenious and quick thinking to activate the learning potential for some learners.
