As an undergraduate student at Utah State University, I spent two years working as a Undergraduate Teaching Fellow, a Teacher's Assistant, and a Supplemental Instructor. I taught labs and assisted students with understanding information in the subject areas of Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology. I held review sessions, created tests and quizzes, and met with students individually or in groups to answer questions, review tests, or improve study habits. I have earned a paraprofessional certification through the Box Elder School District. I have extensive training through Americorps. I have successfully developed a reading program for Adele C. Young Intermediate School ages 6th and 7th grade. I have had the privilege of spending many hours with struggling readers helping to build their reading levels and comprehension skills. I worked at the Brigham City Library for 6 years and Utah State University for 2 years as a facilitator. I absolutely love reading and enjoy working with children. I take great pride in helping a child who is struggling with reading to see them improve daily. I am very patient and kind. I think that a child really thrives with the one on one interaction and I believe that all children want to succeed, though they all learn differently.
