A Little Bit About Me...

Many children struggle with classroom learning because they require a different learning method than the one being offered or more direct attention than a teacher of 20+ students can offer. As a dyslexia therapist I was instructed in a number of different approaches to teaching and how to match each one to an individual student's needs. As a tutor I make it my priority to learn not only which subjects a student needs help with but also why they are struggling at all which allows me to adapt the lesson plan in a way that is easy for them to understand and retain.

Since I remember my days as a student, I am very patient with students who’ve never been exposed to certain subjects or materials. I believe you can only move onto more complex areas after you have gained a thorough understanding of the basics. I prefer to use real-world examples to illustrate abstract concepts.
