I have helped out several of my friends and family members, with everything from studying to hands on projects. I am looking to expand this help to others, and I also believe it will be a rewarding experience for myself. I, myself, enjoy the learning experience a lot, and hope to help others also find a way to enjoy their learning experience.
I have many different teaching tactics depending on how someone prefers to learn. Some people are visual learners, and need the assistance of visual aids and presentations. Others like to learn about things by doing them. However someone enjoys learning, I believe is the best method.

Kind and patient tutor for math, science & computing.

Patient, relaxed, friendly. Able to translate concepts into different scenarios in order to help the student grasp the concept.
Although not degreed in math, science or computers, they were my favorite subjects. More importantly, I am gifted in communicating concepts into terms my students understand and grasp. Repetition doesn't equate to learning, it's a component, it's a way to practice, but it is not how the mind grasps the concept. You will find me kind and patient, I understand you may not get the concept the first or second time. I do however, have high expectations in completing homework. I have recently graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor of Science and teacher certification degree. I student taught during the fall '09 semester. Student teaching provided many opportunities to work on various teaching techniques. The student teaching semester consisted of; leading the class in discussion on a daily basis, creating worksheets, conducting lab experiments and other activities, grading homework and tests, and much more. I would also want to obtain a list of goals or expectations from the student's parents in order to implement a plan that will aid both the student and I to accomplish the targeted goal. I began officially tutoring four years ago, starting up a private tutoring business. Through it, I have taught ages 5 through 55 in nearly all subjects, including mathematics, science, physics, ACT, and English. I also have tutored publicly at Oakland University for one year, where I earned my tutoring certification (level 1).
