My teaching style is to captivate the student's interest with hands on activities that demonstrate academic concepts. After the student understands the concrete real life connection, then we move into the abstract representation of the same concept in print. Each student has strengths and weaknesses that I try to understand and adapt lessons to their unique method of understanding. I also find it effective to teach students with familiar vocabulary that they already understand and then build new ideas upon their previous knowledge. I have worked with students of all ages in a variety of scenarios, but my most recent experience is teaching as an adjunct professor at Eastern Washington University. My course was "History 110: The American Experience." I had 52 students and we met Monday through Friday.
