I have worked in the accounting field for the past 12 years. I received my Masters degree in finance a couple years ago and I am currently studying for the CPA exam. I have extensive knowledge in many areas as well as hands on training. I just became a partner for a local accounting firm. I can tutor high school students and college students of any degree with any field pertaining to accounting and finance. I also have a significant amount of knowledge in several other fields such as math, English, childhood education, and human anatomy.

A Little Bit About Me...

While completing my teaching degree I taught for three years with troubled youth. Subjects were regents level and the subject was earth science and algebra or course I as it is called in NY. I have also taught Summer school at the Allen Center in South Kortright which can be a tough crowd to work with. During my undergraduate studies I tutored chemistry and biology. I also taught 8th grade physical science in Prince George Virgina.
In science and math the learner has to practice much like learning to play a musical instrument. It helps if you can bring real world applications into the classroom so it is meaningful to the students otherwise they feel like they are learning something just for the cause of learning.

I believe that in order to succeed in teaching and being an educator you must inspire those that you are teaching. A child who is excited to learn, will do much better. I feel a hands on approach is best, guiding the child to personal success.
As a Siena College graduate I developed a very hands on approach to active learning. Through classroom lecture and instruction I've completed the necessary coursework to complete my BS of biology. I am flexible to include many teaching styles while working with students. I have found, however, that the best way I have learned is through experience/discovery. I am a firm believer that tutoring students one-on-one is very beneficial and gives the student the added time and experience needed to excel in a certain subject.
