Later, as a homeschooling mother of four, I taught all of my children all subjects through the eighth grade level. I just returned from the island of Saipan, where I taught high school English in a private school, and seventh grade English in a public school. I presently am a certified substitute teacher in the Cumberland County, PA, public school system, where I teach almost all grade levels and subjects. A Little Bit About Me...

I personally designed my undergraduate degree. I believe this shows the value I place on personal initiative in education. I have experience in teaching reading and writing to elementary school students. I also have experience tutoring my peers in reading, writing, art and literature. In my spare time I write fiction and creative non-fiction for a writer's group.

It's imperative to listen and understand a students challenges. Reviewing their previous work and giving a current test is a good indicator of the situation. I believe in practice and examples as the clearest path to success. I don't hand deliver answers and I make the process towards answers engaging. I make sure the time and place are conducive to active and non-distractive learning. I relay the importance and relevance of the material.
