My studies have given me practical experience working with children of different abilities and readiness. I sincerely believe it is the teacher's responsibility to adapt lessons to the student's learning style. I strive to create connections to student past lessons and keep difficult concepts in easy, relative terms that simplify information for the student to digest. A Little Bit About Me...

I began working as a Water Safety Instructor when I was 16 and taught swimming to people age 3 to age 76. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant at West Virginia university and taught my own section of a one credit course required of all freshmen students while working on a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. While working on my MA in English Literature with a Certificate in Folklore at George Mason university, I worked as a substitute teacher and then was hired as a full time middle school English teacher. I worked as a middle school English teacher until April 2010.

I graduated college with top honors. I worked as a Juvenile/Shelter Care Counselor at Berks County Youth Center where I worked with children of all ages and races. I am semi bi-lingual in Spanish. I took three years of Spanish courses in college. I supervised children in school and daily activities, but was also responsible for helping them complete all homework assignments, organize educational activities , help teach all school subjects, as well as tutor children in need of extra help in school. I have worked with children of all educational levels, especially since most of the children came from poverty stricken areas and were behind in their schooling,many with learning disabilities.
