Although I never actually taught a class, I was able to learn how to adapt to the individual needs of a student. Some learn visually, others with games, practice, hands on... and the list continues. I find starting out with the basics and working up to the harder subjects is important. So, with the assignment given I also ask other questions of the student to see if they understand the more basic concepts of the problem as well as answer the question. I find this helps them understand the process more completely and the student ends up giving more complete answers on assignments and exams. A Little Bit About Me...

In obtaining my master's degree in communication at the Elliott School of Communication at Wichita State University, I have acquired the necessitated skills for this position. I was a graduate teaching assistant and taught interpersonal communication and public speaking. I was also hired by the Communication Upward Bound program to teach English literature to high school students.
I believe every person has her or his own learning style. The best way to get a child to understand her or his own potential is to get to know each individual student. It takes a little more time, but making sure each student knows I care about their individual success has enabled me to teach those who never thought they would be able to speak in public to do so.
