A Little Bit About Me...

One of the first graduates of a dual degree program from Lesley College(www.lesley.edu),I received a BS/MEd in Early Childhood Education specializing in Early Intervention in 1999. Beginning in June of 1999, I raised my three children full-time. During that time, I worked part-time as a Therapeutic Mentor for PSC of Maine(www.provcorp.com). PSC is a behavioral health agency that serves at-risk school-aged children and their families. Soon after arriving in NC in 2008, I obtained my Birth-K teaching lisence and, in 2009, began teaching full-time for the More-at-Four Pre-K program(www.darecountyschoolsonline). I am returning to Maine with my family in July of 2011, as my husband is retiring from the USCG after 20 years of service.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and love everything about Mathmatics especially algebra which happens to be my favorite concept in mathematics. I love working with children. I believe that all children learn in different ways and a teacher needs to make it so that all children can succeed by motifying the way the introduce something so that it can be explained a different way so that those who learn differently can have the opportunity to learn the material. I think that all children can succeed if they are given the change to learn the way they learn best. I believe that students being engaged in learning is critical not only to students achieving the learning outcomes, but also is also an important aspect of retaining the information they learn.
