I am currently the Sixth Grade History Teacher at Williamsburg Collegiate Charter School. My responsibilities at WCCS include developing rigorous objectives for the Sixth Grade History curriculum. Moreover, I serve as a Special Education Guided Reading Instructor for eight, Sixth grade students. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant at West Virginia university and taught my own section of a one credit course required of all freshmen students while working on a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. While working on my MA in English Literature with a Certificate in Folklore at George Mason university, I worked as a substitute teacher and then was hired as a full time middle school English teacher. After graduating with a BS in Special Education, I worked for almost six years as a high school Learning Support teacher. I taught and supported students in all subjects. I was fortunate enough to be home with my children for a few years before I started working as a substitute teacher. I have been subbing on a day to day basis since November of 2009. I recently met PA and NJ standards to be considered Highly Qualified in the area of middle and high school English.
