Teaching and learning is deeply rooted in my being, children are my joy, and I truly believe all are capable of learning. I use a constructivist approach to teaching, and believe learners reach potential by active involvement. I have always loved working with children and can work with children of all levels due to growing up with an autistic younger brother. His disability has taught me to be patient and open-minded with all children. I understand that all children have a different way of learning and it may take time to identify a child's learning style. I am very observant and so I can quickly pick up on how a student will learn best. I understand that some children aren't fortunate enough to have a support system to help them through school and to take time to teach them. I would like to contribute to helping to teach children on all levels. Some children just need a boost to get them on their feet and some children need more guidance than others.

I really starting to help tutor people in high school. I found out that I enjoy helping people with there challenges and watching them succeed. I believe that when teaching or tutoring someone that you find a method that works for that person. That having a teaching template helps as a guide, but if you are not willing to change your method for the student they are never going to be able to retain the information for long term use.
