I was a parent volunteer in my children's elementary school for 4 to 5 years. I was a substitute teacher in grades 1 thru 4. I tutuored my two children for two years. I taught summer school to first and second graders, was a teacher's assistant, and worked as a one-on-one tutor in a reading program in the elementary school. Since my years as an undergraduate student, one of my passions has always been giving back to the community through tutoring and mentoring. I enjoy working with students in small groups, or one-on-one, I believe that in order to help a student succeed in a subject matter in is first necessary to show him/her a real life application of the skill set you are teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

All of my teaching experience has been in a Sunday School setting. I understand that this is not in the school system, but I have had the oppertunity to learn to relate to children of various ages.
