The foundation of my philosophical approach to teaching is that every student can learn. With that theory in mind, practice in the field of teaching has also shown me that actual acquisition of knowledge is a direct function of teacher effectiveness, student motivation, and student support. My style of teaching can best be described as student-centered. Every student learns differently. It is the teacher's responsibility to: 1. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that an open dialogue is a teacher's most needed resource. Any child needs to feel as though he or she can express concerns or apprehensions without the fear of feeling embarrassed or stupid. I truly believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Teaching should, of course, relay necessary information, but it should also foster a student's drive to succeed, as well as the knowledge that any goal can be reached through perserverance. I enjoy helping students of all ages, and I look forward to what my students will inevitably teach me.

I began teaching at Hesperia Christian in 1995. First, I substituted and then taught part-time, two to four subjects a year: Advanced Math and Drama, 5 years; Biology, 1 year; and Advanced Drama, 3 years. When my son started seventh grade, I began homeschooling. I taught Earth and Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Grammar, Vocabulary, English Composition, British and American Literature, Geography, American and World History, Ethics, Social Studies, Government, Sign Language, and Bible.
