Raised in a disadvantaged social-economic environment, I sought success by joining the military; traveling and learning about the world. Upon my retirement I decided to give back by bringing the diversity of the world into the classroom. I graduated college cum laude and served as the President, International English Honor Society; Sigma Tau Delta. My education includes degrees in Biology, Environmental Science, and Education. Some of my coursework included botany, zoology, chemistry, physics, ecology, scientific methods and writing. As an environmental consultant for the past 23 years, I’ve conducted scientific studies, written reports, managed a team, and worked with the public. I've also taught science at the college-level. Two favorite classes were “Spring Flora” and “Trees and Shrubs”. Both were freshman courses that introduced mostly non-science majors to their first experience with the natural sciences.
